Carbon Fiber Antitrust Litigation
This case was brought as a class action alleging that the Defendants entered into a conspiracy, in violation of the federal antitrust laws, to fix the prices of Carbon Fiber sold in the United States during the period from January 1, 1993 to January 31, 1999.
Plaintiffs allege that as a result of the conspiracy, they and the other members of the Class have been injured because they paid more for Carbon Fiber than they would have paid in the absence of the alleged conspiracy.
The Cytec Defendants, Hexcel, the Toray Defendants and the Toho Defendants deny they violated the antitrust laws, but have agreed to enter into settlements in order to put to rest all controversy and to avoid the further expense and burden of ongoing litigation.
